Jammin' On The Porch Schr
Jammin' On The Porch

The Mineral Point Historical Society’s Jammin’ on the Porch season will continue this summer at Gundry House at Orchard Lawn, 234 Madison Street in Mineral Point, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on second Fridays, June through September. The popular outdoor concerts feature local musicians and a casual feeling amid rolling green lawns and beautiful gardens. Gather friends and family, bring a picnic dinner or snacks, your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy some of the best times that summer can offer. No admission is charged; the musicians play for tips.

July 10th - Katie Burns

The 2009 schedule for Mineral Pointers’ favorite lawn parties includes:

June 12.  Wooden Nickel Orchestra is a trio with Victoria Mecozzi on guitar, Chris Wagoner on fiddle, and Mary Gaines on bass. Their performances highlight original songs and covers of music that is all over the board, from old-time country to folk and swing.  A yodeling alert comes with the band's appearance at Jammin'!

July 10.  Katie Burns with Jen Logueflower, Aaron Dunn, Monica Dunn and Carole Spelic

August 14. The Fly Rights always have a good time on the Gundry porch. Their extensive song list includes cowboy songs, jazz standards, western swing, and danceable favorites. The Fly Rights are Paul Biere, Roger Diggle, Monica Kmak, and Carole Spelic'.

September 11. Dealin’ has been in existence for over thirty years now, morphing from its original country rock beginnings into a solid rhythm and blues outfit. The band mixes classic blues with original songs, and features plenty of back and forth soloing from guitar, bass, sax, and piano. Their latest CD release, “Hot Hand” will be available at the show.

All performances on the lawn at Orchard Lawn, between Madison and Washington Streets, Mineral Point.
